It is Monday morning. Yesterday the worship songs were suited to the message. The volume increased as the congregation engaged. The walls of the auditorium reverberated with the heavy base. Most people seemed deeply engaged in worship. My ears hurt. Today, I am called by the Scriptures to do work. My life is to be an act of worship. Everything I do is to be done "as to the Lord and not unto men." My heart thrills to walking in fellowship with my Lord. I find no music that connects with my weekday experience at work.

"Worship is for the Church to respond to the presence of their King. Worship is not for the Church to react to people as they respond to their King. We are called to respond to His presence."

This! I needed to hear this today. Our church has been growing in worship and we're working through some speed bumps in relation to how different people feel worship "should" be led plus the logistics of time constraints etc... how easy it is to be led away from the core of what worship is: a response to our King.

Thank you.
